Hey... long time no update!

All these username changes are confusing me. I'm never gonna remember who's who now!

Not much for updates... been really busy at work this year. Sort of got a promotion at work to financial manager, but they won't give me the title. Meh. It just means I'm a lot busier at work and have more responsibility. And I have to do staff appraisals... yuck.

I registered for another 2 Honours papers this year: International Business, and Organisational Change & Renewal. Haven't had much time to study though.

Three of my photos have been featured/used by online and print magazines. I'm really pleased about that!

"Slipping through time" was used by in the Monnaie Munt Magazine for their article on the opera "Il Trovatore".

"Pink Dandelion" was featured in the South African Pix Journal (print magazine) in the April/May 2012 issue in their article on macro/waterdrops.

"Colour and Light" was featured in an online magazine by TASartDErgi in their May 2012 edition - an article about colour (page 34-35) [link]



On May 5th, I had an unfortunate incident. I went to a photographic workshop with some friends, and at the end of the day we were packing up the car, when one of them realised they had forgotten something in the change room. I offered to go in to collect it, and without thinking, I put my camera bag done next to the car (as they were still packing inside the car). I took longer than they expected, and in the mean time they reversed the car closer to the entrance (so that it was closer for me). They didn't realise my camera bag was next to the car, and of course, crunch, they had driven over it. My 7D smashed, my 580EX in two pieces, and my 50mm lens stuck to the camera body. Memory card bent. Even batteries were damaged. Oh my word. I just burst into tears when I saw this. And my friends felt really bad about it too. But thank goodness for insurance! I received my brand new 7D, flash & lens just last week. And it works like a dream. Never again will I take my camera for granted, or place it down next to a car!!

I'll post a few pics from the workshop some time soon (thank goodness that memory card was in my pocket and not in my camera bag).
